WHAT DOES OUR BUSINESS COMMUNITY HAVE TO SAY?

“We also chose Wellington because of the support provided by Taunton Deane Borough Council. They worked closely with us to identify the right property then found solutions to affordability issues, including a generous grant to assist with recruitment.

Rigid provides cost-effective fibre-based packaging solutions to an array of customers in virtually all sectors. With a long history in corrugated packaging manufacturing, as well as the site in Wellington we have sites strategically located in Desborough, Northants, Selby in Yorkshire and Limerick, Ireland.

In January 2013, we took on a 140,000 sqft facility in Wellington, Somerset. The choice of this location was targeted and strategic as it enabled us to gain a foothold in the South West and provide true ‘just-in-time solutions’ to new customers based in the region.

Our ‘Stock and Serve’ support for customers means we needed a location with first class access for our lorries to the UK motorway network.  Being so close to Junction 26 of the M5 gives us the opportunity to access all parts of the West easily.

We also chose Wellington because of the support provided by Taunton Deane Borough Council. They worked closely with us to identify the right property then found solutions to affordability issues, including a generous grant to assist with recruitment.

An expanding customer base, a growing workforce and increased profitability prove that Somerset really was a good strategic decision for Rigid.”
